December Outreach Program for School Kids
We are honored to announce our participation in an exciting outreach program this December, introducing local school kids to the world of construction and insulation through hands-on learning experiences.
Project Overview:
Our initiative involves transforming a 40′ shipping container into a tiny house or off-grid living space. This project, led by J.T. King and funded by Royal Developments, is part of a nonprofit second chance program aimed at supporting high school-aged students aged 17-20 from diverse backgrounds who face various challenges.
Learning Experience:
Six students are currently working alongside two dedicated facilitators, engaging in practical activities such as:
- Spray Foam Insulation: Students learn about closed cell foam application, with Mitch guiding them through the process and even allowing them to spray small sections.
- Team Collaboration: Working together to transform the shipping container, students develop essential teamwork skills.
- Trade Insights: Nate provides overviews of insulation options and applications, exposing students to various aspects of the construction industry.
Empowering Youth:
Our goal is to empower these students by:
- Building confidence in their abilities
- Providing valuable skills and insights into different trades
- Guiding them towards future educational or career paths in the trades
Commitment to Safety:
Safety is our top priority. Insulation-HUB has provided all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for students and staff, ensuring a safe working environment throughout the project.
